Role Summary
As a Architect Engineer, you will support the project during the design review, approval, and construction supervision phases, ensuring that all works are carried out in accordance with approved designs, relevant international standards, and client requirements.
The Architect is responsible for reviewing completed designs, ensuring their technical compliance, and verifying that construction works are executed in line with the approved design intent on site.
Line and Staff Relations
The Architect will report to the Senior Architect / Resident Engineer (Consulting/Site Supervision) and will work in coordination with other team members such as:
Staff: BIM Manager
Internal / External collaborators:
Engineers of different trades within the practice as well as with Engineers in other practices.
Partners and sub-consultants assigned for the projects, ensuring all communications and technical exchanges are properly documented.
Contractors , site supervision teams, and relevant statutory authorities during the construction stage.
Key Responsibilities
Design Review & Approval
Review completed architectural designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and international standards.
Ensure all deliverables meet contractual requirements and authority regulations.
Assess coordination across disciplines and identify any constructability issues prior to construction.
Review and approve contractor shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
Consultant Supervision
Monitor architectural works on site to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
Verify that works are executed in accordance with approved design intent.
Coordinate with inspectors and engineers to resolve site issues.
Participate in site inspections, progress reviews, and technical meetings.
Support the Resident Engineer in managing RFIs, site instructions, and variations.
Documentation
Ensure all project documentation (shop drawings, RFIs, NCRs, as-built drawings) is properly reviewed and maintained.
Ensure compliance with company and client documentation standards.
Coordination
Coordinate works across all disciplines to ensure proper integration during construction.
Coordinate with external agencies, stakeholders, sub-consultants, and approving authorities.
Profile Specifications – Minimum Requirements
Experience
5–10 years of total experience including site supervision and management consulting experience (mandatory).
Minimum 5 years experience in the Middle East (mandatory).
Experience on large-scale infrastructure projects in the Middle East (mandatory).
Experience on aviation projects is an advantage (not mandatory).
Education
Bachelor of Architecture / Master of Architecture Degree or equivalent.
Memberships & Certifications
UAE / Country-specific Society of Engineers membership preferred.
International Accreditation (RIBA, AIA or equivalent) and Sustainability Certification (LEED, PQP or equivalent) are preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge
Knowledge of statutory authority requirements and international codes and standards.
Understanding of Fire & Life Safety principles and construction practices.
Software Skills
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and BIM (Revit).
Knowledge of coordination tools (Navisworks) is an advantage.
Knowledge of 3D rendering software and Interior Design is an advantage.
Soft Skills
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Problem-solving mindset and ability to manage site challenges.
