Role Summary
As a Electrical Engineer you support the design review, approval, and construction supervision phases, including technical advice, field coordination, and stakeholder management, while ensuring compliance with UAE authority codes, IATA/ICAO aviation standards, and international best practices.
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for assessing the technical integrity of completed designs and ensuring that construction works are executed in line with the approved design intent.
Line & Staff Relations
The Electrical Engineer will report to the Resident Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer (Consulting/Site Supervision) and will work in coordination with:
• MEP Engineers, Architects, and Engineers from other disciplines.
• BIM Manager and technical teams (as required for coordination).
• External consultants, contractors, and statutory authorities (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, Civil Defense, GCAA, etc.).
Key Responsibilities
Design Review & Approval
Review and approve electrical design drawings, calculations, and technical documents prepared during earlier design stages.
Ensure compliance with UAE authority codes (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA), IATA ADRM, and ICAO Annexes.
Assess constructability and coordination across disciplines prior to construction.
Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and ITPs.
Site Supervision
Monitor and supervise electrical works to ensure compliance with contract, approved drawings, codes, and safety requirements.
Conduct scheduled inspections and provide accurate technical comments on electrical works.
Ensure contractor performance meets approved standards and procedures.
Conduct regular site walkthroughs and inspections.
Support the Resident Engineer in preparing progress and status reports.
Conduct snagging and re-snagging of completed works.
Review and recommend approval of as-built drawings and O&M manuals.
Assist in testing, commissioning, and authority handovers.
Coordination & Technical Support
Coordinate with other disciplines to resolve site-related technical issues.
Manage RFIs, site instructions, and design clarifications during construction.
Ensure proper integration of electrical systems with mechanical, civil, and ICT systems.
Health & Safety
Ensure compliance with the project’s HSE plan.
Coordinate with HSE team to ensure safe execution of electrical works on site.
Profile Specifications – Minimum Requirements
Experience
8–10 years of experience including site supervision and management consulting experience (mandatory).
Minimum 5 years experience in the Middle East (mandatory).
Experience on large-scale infrastructure projects in the Middle East (mandatory).
Airport project experience is an advantage (not mandatory).
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Memberships & Certifications
UAE Society of Engineers membership preferred.
Abu Dhabi / Dubai engineering license preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge
UAE authority requirements (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, GCAA, Civil Defense).
International standards: British, NFPA, IEC, IATA ADRM, ICAO Annexes.
Fire & Life Safety systems and construction practices.
Software Skills (2025 Updated)
Revit (BIM), AutoCAD, Navisworks.
Electrical simulation and load analysis tools (ETAP, Dialux, etc.).
Collaboration platforms: BIM 360, Asite, Primavera Cloud.
Familiarity with digital QA/QC and coordination tools.
Soft Skills
Effective English communication (written & spoken).
Strong coordination and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced site environment.
